The Eyes Have It !!!! My visits to the NEAPEAN OPTOMETRIC are few after cataract surgery and its outcomes on my eyes. SAD in a way as the NEPEAN OPTOMETRIC is a great place filled with talented and friendly people. As soon as you enter the door and present yourself at the main desk, there is a sense of openness in the layout and in the manners of the EYE crew. From the welcoming counter and booking desk through to the high-end eye examination cubes and their instruments. NEPEAN has well trained and caring people. No undo rush, no sales pitches, no intimidating devices or overloaded dips into medica terms like Retinitis pigmentosa. The staff are low keyed, technically talented and welcoming ------ from the front desk to the examination rooms. You quickly get a sense of sincere care and a willingness to readily explain, to engage you at your level and to explain and to guide you with their eye knowledge. ALL WELL DONE & INVITING Ed Wiken 2025/06/05

I saw Dr. Charbonneau, and he was extremely thorough and very personable. I had a seamless experience with the entire team, and Julia was also great with my new frame selection. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and professional, including the optometrist I saw. However, I would not return to this clinic. I was charged $75 simply to be told that my contact lenses-(ones I have been wearing for years), fit well. At my previous eye clinic, I was never charged for this type of visit, so it felt like I paid $75 essentially for trial lenses. Additionally, when I asked for my pupillary distance, I was told it would cost $25 plus tax. I later walked into my former clinic and received this measurement at no charge. They also explained how easy it is to measure at home with a bit of time and patience. This experience highlighted a clear difference between clinics that prioritize helping their patients and those that focus more on money. 🌟My response to what you replied with: Your response to my review is very “corporate”. But thank you for taking the time to reply and for explaining your clinic’s policies. I understand that contact lens assessments and pupillary distance measurements are considered separate services at your clinic, and that fees may vary between practices. My concern, however, was not a lack of understanding after the fact, but rather the value and transparency from a patient perspective. As someone who has worn the same contact lenses for years, the $75 charge felt unexpected and disproportionate to the service provided, particularly when no changes or trials were required. Likewise, being quoted $25 plus tax for a pupillary distance measurement… which I later received at no cost elsewhere… reinforced the feeling that pricing, rather than patient support, was prioritized. I appreciate that clinics structure fees differently, but my review reflects my personal experience and comparison with other optometric offices. While your policies may align with professional associations, patients may still reasonably feel disappointed when charges differ so significantly from what they have previously encountered. I am glad others may find your services worthwhile, but for me, this experience did not meet my expectations, which is why I would not choose to return.
