We hired this contractor for a main floor renovation at a rental property. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations. The project ran significantly over schedule, and the quality of workmanship did not meet professional standards. Multiple areas of the scope of work including flooring, baseboards, interior doors, sanding, painting, electrical, bathroom, etc required repeated corrections and many of the items were improperly finished or left incomplete. Despite raising these concerns throughout the project, the final result did not align with what was outlined in the contract. Communication was inconsistent and often required multiple follow-ups. Scheduled dates were missed without notice, and responses were frequently delayed, making it difficult to plan or manage the project. In addition, the scope of work changed during the project without clear agreement. As a result of these deficiencies, we incurred significant additional time, including loss of rental income, and more than double the original cost by hiring third-party professional contractors to correct his work and complete the remaining scope. Ultimately, we had to release him from the project. While this contractor may be suitable for very small non–time-sensitive jobs, based on our experience I would not recommend nor would I use his services again. I strongly advise anyone considering working with Peter to do reference checks, clearly define scope, timelines, quality expectations, and change management in writing before proceeding.
