Ever since the new owners took over the Agassiz Seniors Community one just over the last couple of years, the quality of service and food has gone down. It seems they care more about saving money or trying to increase the rent by an outrages amount, then caring about the seniors quality of care. Their websites say...enriching the lives of seniors, the resident always comes first, etc. Well what has happened to all that?? It is very frustrating and maddening to see them take advantage of seniors who should be well taken care of! And I see it, as I have a family member living there. Shame on the new owners! Response to owners reply: Most people understand the need to an increase due to inflation etc., including me. The legal amount is 3% per year. The owners (you, if you are one of them) were trying to raise it 6x that amount for the year, NOT COOL! If that location was well below market rate for years, then maybe the new owners shouldn't have bought it. In regards to the food service concerns, they have been brought up in the resident meetings for a long long long time since the new ownership and haven't been fixed, so I know that isn't true as it is still an ongoing problem. For the resident meetings, I already know about them. As I mentioned above, I have family there so I hear about the issues. The resident manager is great and is always there at the meetings. It is not a resident management problem, it is whoever that person is telling the concerns to that is the problem (owners? Senior manager?) as they aren't doing anything about it. The seniors are using their voices, and someone needs to start listening and addressing them. They deserve better! Maybe the owners should show up at the meetings some times and show they care and then fix the issues to start showing it's not all about money and making cut backs. They deserve to be well looked after at this stage in life. There were none of these issues till the new owners took over.

Considering long term care residents living for a friend's mother and myself, ...Park Place manages over 30 long term care residence communities and felt comfortable with such a well established operation..
