I honestly regret this purchase. I paid extra to have my old mattress hauled away, thinking I was upgrading, but after just three nights on the Douglas Alpine, I wish I could get my old one back. This mattress sleeps incredibly hot despite being marketed as “cooling,” and it’s far firmer than expected—it honestly feels like sleeping on a rock. Because it’s memory foam, there’s essentially no real cooling—just heat retention. I’ve had consistently uncomfortable sleeps since switching. It also made me realize something important: mattresses without springs just don’t offer the same airflow, responsiveness, or support. Foam alone traps heat and lacks the give that a proper coil system provides. On top of that, it doesn’t even fit properly with higher-end sheet sets. The mattress is noticeably thinner and lighter than what you’d expect from a quality product, especially compared to other premium mattresses that are thicker, more substantial, and often delivered for free these days. Worst part? You can’t even leave a review without going through their entire return process first, which feels unnecessarily difficult and discouraging. For something with so many positive reviews, this was a huge letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it if you care about comfort, proper support, or temperature regulation.
