Senior Care Path Summary
Advanced Vision Eyewear Boutique, established in 2005, operates two convenient locations in Hamilton and offers comprehensive eye exams tailored to each patient's lifestyle and vision needs. The practice provides specialized care for seniors, including glaucoma treatment and diabetes-related eye care, both common concerns for aging adults.
The boutique carries a curated selection of luxury designer frames from brands like Francis Klein, Theo, Anne et Valentin, and others, with options for custom lenses suited to individual prescriptions and visual requirements. The optometrists take time to explain examination results, prescriptions, and recommended eye care to each patient.
Staff are trained to address vision changes and work with patients to find eyewear solutions. The practice also offers dry eye treatment and thorough vision assessments that may help identify changes typical in aging eyes. Appointments can be booked online, and the team is described as warm and attentive to patient concerns.

This place is very shady. I booked an appointment online, they called me to reschedule earlier, so I accommodated their schedule. The optometrist never showed up. I ended up waiting more than 1.5 hours and was only seen at my originally scheduled time. The receptionists were not upfront about the wait time. The team was very pushy trying to sell expensive frames and lens upgrades. They also repeatedly tried to get me to agree to their contact lens exam when I said was not interested. Watch out as this is an extra charge which they don't explicitly disclose.

Unfortunately had a very similar experience to others here. I should have read the reviews first. I ordered contacts from them earlier this year and was told on the phone if my prescription changes, they'll just swap them. Well my prescription changed and I went in and ordered a new supply but didn't really understand the process, I even clearly said "I don't understand this" to the doctor and Paula the sales lady, but figured it should be fine since I have insurance. Lo and behold, my insurance is not covering these specific $900 contacts. Absolutely no one at the eye place told me sales were final until AFTER I purchased them. The receptionist was great and suggested I email Paula directly with my concern. I did and she never got back to me, so now I'm stuck with this $900 charge that I have no idea how to pay off. She also tried to sell me $1000+ glasses (not even designer nor any special coatings!) thank god I didn't go for those. I told her I can get way cuter and better ones online for 1/50th that price. Can't believe eye place are still scamming customers like this in 2025. Definitely gonna look for a new eye doctor.

My experience here was extremely disappointing. Dr. Salaba was rude, dismissive, and consistently late for appointments. He showed little respect for patients’ time or concerns. I would strongly advise against seeing him, as the level of professionalism and care was severely lacking. On top of that, I would not recommend purchasing glasses from this location either—the overall service does not justify the cost. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere. This is a fair warning to anyone considering coming here.
