About

Viewpoint Vision Care brings mobile optometrist and optician services directly to seniors' homes, retirement communities, and long-term care facilities across Hamilton and the GTA. They offer comprehensive eye examinations and eyewear services without requiring travel.

Senior Care Path Summary

Viewpoint Vision Care specializes in mobile eye examinations for seniors and residents who face mobility challenges or transportation barriers. Their optometrists conduct thorough eye assessments on site at retirement homes, long-term care communities, and private residences, using specialty mobile diagnostic equipment suited to any setting, including bedside care for non-verbal residents or those living with dementia.

The service eliminates the need for seniors to travel to clinics, reducing stress and disruption to daily routines while allowing care teams to remain involved. Comprehensive examinations can detect vision changes and eye health conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration that impact safety and independence.

If glasses are needed, their mobile optician assists with personalized frame selection and lens recommendations. They offer direct billing to private health insurance, ODSP, and NIHB. The team provides follow-up support including adjustments and ongoing vision care questions.

I’m so grateful such a service exists! I was in desperate need of a new prescription and I have major issues with severe health anxiety. Not only was I able to book an appointment and have this service come to my house I was able to ask all the questions I needed to be able to make an informed decision. Everyone was so nice. From booking the appointment to asking lots of questions before that…they were all kindly answered. Communicating with Travis about my vision needs and frames when ordering glasses helped me to feel heard and seen, something that can really get overlooked with any kind of mental health struggle! These are the services that help make people feel like they matter and have options. I would absolutely recommend this service. I will for sure be using Viewpoint Vision Care Mobile Service again and letting anybody who has a hard time getting to appointments calmly know that this is an option. Thank you so much!!

I have never had a worse experience with customer service or quality of product in my life for anything ever. First of all, it took a month and a half to even get an appointment. There was no precision at all in the eye examination, so when my glasses arrived everything was blurry. It was as though the prescription wasn’t even for me. The hand held process to rectify this was also not precise and I cannot see completely clearly through my new lenses. Lenses and frames cost me $660. When I chose my frames, I questioned the strength and durability, and was assured that they were very strong and durable. They’re made of TITANIUM. After having them for less than two months, the frames broke. After a week a selection of about ten or twelve selection that should have fit my lenses were brought out, and the two that I liked, of course, did not fit my lenses. Now I have frames that I don’t like, and a prescription that I think would be sharper, had there been any precision in the eye exam. On top of all of this, I was told that they’re not making any money from me because of all the extra visits. Strongly insinuating that the problems are in some way my fault. The best part is the price. As I said before, $660 for really poor customer service. RUDE, and I have frames that I hate. I call it extortion against people with disabilities who can’t get out to get their own glasses. Shame on you Viewpoint Vision. SHAME ON YOU !!!!!

Viewpoint came right to my mom in hospice and worked with her on a great solution to help her see so much clearer! Travis was so kind to her and even donated a pair of frames that will work better for her! I would highly recommend this service to anyone! Thank you so much!
