  My husband recently experienced a serious episode of SVT and treated at the Emergency Department of Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire emergency team for the outstanding care they provided. From the moment we arrived, the staff acted quickly, professionally, and with great compassion. My husband was experiencing a rapid heart rate and chest discomfort, and the medical team proptly assessed his condition and intiated treatment. The doctors, nurses, and support staff remained calm, attentive, and reassuring throughout a very stressful situation. Their expertise and teamwork were evident at every step. Thanks to their timely intervention and effective treatment, my husband's condition was stabilized and he recovered well. We are deeply grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and kindness shown by everyone involved in his care. The experience reminded us how fortunate our community is to have such skilled healthcare professionals available when they are needed most. As a family member, watching a loved one undergo emergency treatment is frightning, but the team's confidence, professionalism, and compassion gave us comfort and reassurance throughout the entire experience.

  Our family recently had a very positive experience at Ajax Hospital while my grandmother underwent hip surgery due to a fall. The nurses and doctors were truly amazing throughout the entire process, and everything was handled in a very timely manner, which we really appreciated during such a stressful time. A special thank you to Dr. Shafiq, who was quick with his diagnosis and strongly advocated for surgery despite my grandmother’s age. His care, urgency, and professionalism made a huge difference for our family. The nurses were also incredibly kind and compassionate, from the ER all the way to the unit she was transferred to after surgery. We always felt supported and cared for. The only area that could be improved would be more after-hours food options for families staying late at the hospital, but overall the care we received was excellent. Thank you to the entire team for everything you did for my grandmother.

  Horrible staff. You could be dying in the waiting room and they’d still leave you there before finally calling you in. The nurses kept telling me I’d “be fine” and to just wait. Save your time and go to a hospital in Scarborough instead. While I was sitting there bleeding in the waiting room, staff were watching YouTube videos instead of helping patients. I understand hospitals can be short staffed but for them to be so disrespectful and just be watching videos while we’re asking how long until the next person goes in is absolutely ridiculous.
