Senior Care Path Summary
QDoc connects older adults with local physicians and nurse practitioners through secure video calls, 24/7 from the comfort of home. No referrals, travel, or out-of-pocket costs are required for Manitoba residents with a provincial health card, making healthcare accessible for seniors who have mobility challenges or limited transportation options.
The service is simple to use: create an online account, add your health information, and join the queue. A doctor texts you when ready, so you can continue your day while waiting. Physicians can prescribe medications, provide referrals to specialists, issue sick notes, and arrange in-person visits if needed. All documents are securely stored in your patient profile.
QDoc has completed over 200,000 virtual visits since launching in 2022 and is recognized as a provincial healthcare service. The platform is built with accessibility in mind, available through web browser and iOS/Android apps. First experience was frustrating. I set up an account and planned to make an appointment, but the only option is to see a doctor "now." So I waited until I was able to talk, filled in a bunch more information, then was offered appointments 8-12 hours later, which didn't work for me. If they were clear about how this works, I could have put a request in at the right time. Instead, I had to cancel and go through the whole request again next day.

We live rurally where the walk-ins around us fill up very quickly with bookings. This can make seeing a doctor same day very difficult at times. Driving sometimes an hour to seek walk-in care is not always ideal with sick or injured children/adults. Qdoc has alleviated this stress, and makes seeking healthcare more accessible for our family. There has been only one time we were waitlisted and were not able to see a provider. Qdoc has been able to send requisitions for xray and even blood work, the providers always have been quick to respond with results. I recommend qdoc to anyone who is looking to seek same day care especially those rurally around us with in hopes to alleviate the er wait times.

Qdoc is the answer for patient like me that let's say luck of budget to go in hospital or clinic especially if you don't have car because here in my place there's no public transportation so we need to pay a car for us to go in clinic and it's expensive like me I'm new here in Canada. So it's a big help that qdoc was created thank you so much
