Dr. Leavitt did a fantastic job with diagnosing and performing my hemi toe joint replacement. Frank discussion about various treatment options and possible outcomes was thorough and current. I was able to determine what procedure would be best for me, and felt comfortable with my expectations. He did the hemi surgery in January, 2026. I have gone from about 15% flexibility at the time of surgery, to about 80% of full flex. I am still in the healing stage - and after living with reduced flex in this joint for 40 years - achieving 80% is life-changing progress. I no longer have issues with gait or hip pain, and am very, very happy with the results.

I was accused of trying to commit insurance fraud by Dr. Brent Young after returning custom-made orthotics. God, I should have taken a picture of them and posted it here. The flimsiest piece of plastic you can imagine, worth 650 CAD. Instead of admitting that they didn’t work and offering to remake or adjust them somehow, he kept mumbling medical terminology. When I realized that he was not going to admit their mistake, I asked for a refund, and he started asking how I had paid for them. I paid upfront out of my own pocket and waited a month for the orthotics to be made. When I mentioned the insurance, which reimbursed 470 out of the total 650, he said that I would now have to pay the insurance money back, provide them with a letter from the insurance company, and only then would they reimburse me. Sure, I will jump through the hoops, but that means I will be at a 750 loss on my credit card while waiting for the reimbursement. What upset me even more was the humiliation of being accused of something like that. It felt horrible. They screwed up, I wasted a couple of months not being able to train without orthotics, and now this. I wish I had stayed with the old clinic. Instead of policing how insurance money is spent by their clients, Mr. Young should focus on learning how to treat foot problems and on speaking to people respectfully. My advice: avoid this clinic at all costs. It’s a money grab. They may be able to treat some ingrown nails, but they sure don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to custom-made orthotics.

1-Star Review Our experience at this clinic was extremely disappointing and upsetting for our family. We brought our 10-year-old daughter in expecting a simple consultation, because that’s what we were told over the phone. Instead, they removed both of her toenails that same day without preparing us or her for such an invasive and traumatic procedure. While our daughter was understandably distressed, the most troubling part was what happened afterward. My mother-in-law was in the lobby and overheard staff talking negatively about our daughter, commenting on how she was “freaking out” and screaming. They clearly didn’t realize she was with us. When she went to the counter to address this, the staff seemed surprised and unprofessional. She’s a child compassion should be the bare minimum. After the procedure, her toes were wrapped in large bandages and she couldn’t wear shoes. Considering it’s winter, no one offered any alternative or advice for getting her safely and comfortably out the door. Overall, the lack of communication, compassion, and professionalism made this a terrible experience. I would not recommend this clinic, especially for children.
