We had a 30+ year old jetted tub that was bone in colour...we had Craig come and refinish the tub in white, to match the new jets that we were able to find. Job took about 5 hours from start to finish and the tub looks like it is new. Those who have been in and visited us thought we had torn out the old tub and installed a new one. Thanks Craig.

Regarding bathtub refinishing services provided by Craig Russell, operating as Surface Medic in Gananoque, Ontario. In 2019, my husband and I hired Mr. Russell to refinish the interior of a vintage cast-iron bathtub that is a central feature of a custom bathroom restoration project. We paid $475 for the work. Shortly after completion, rust began appearing around the drain area, resulting in multiple return visits and repair attempts over several years. Despite these efforts, the problem persisted. In 2022, after several unsuccessful repairs, we removed the drain components ourselves, ground away the defective finish, and reapplied epoxy coating. This finally resolved the drain issue for a period of time. In April 2026, the tub developed cracking and separation of the finish in the main floor area. Mr. Russell inspected the tub on May 14, 2026, and quoted $750 to redo the work. The repair was completed on May 21, 2026, and we paid the agreed amount in cash. Within days of completion, rust reappeared around the drain area. Upon investigation, we found that the finish was peeling away from rust underneath, suggesting inadequate surface preparation. Additional defects included visible paint sags, cracking, poor preparation around the overflow opening, and lifting of the coating after the tub was first used following the repair. We documented these issues with photographs and notified Mr. Russell immediately. On June 3, 2026, we formally requested a refund of the $750 paid for the most recent refinishing work, citing the repeated failures and our loss of confidence in the quality and durability of the workmanship. Despite subsequent emails and a voicemail left on June 15, 2026, the matter remains unresolved. We continue to seek reimbursement of the $750 paid for the May 2026 repair, which failed almost immediately and did not meet reasonable expectations of professional workmanship.

Our bathtub is very old and it would be difficult to replace as it is slightly different dimensions that common tubs. Our tub is SPARKLING CLEAN AND WHITE!!! It looks absolutely beautiful!! What a fantastic job, we are so happy that we found this reliable, highly capable company to complete the work in a very timely fashion. Many thanks again, such a great job, very professional!!!
