This first part of the review was written six years ago. My experiences having lived here for four years: Bob MacRae, General Manager totally disregards the laws set down by the Landlord Tenant Act. He has entered my apartment without warning on a many different occasions and the police say they can do nothing because I have no proof. Over four years ago I reported to him, by email, my stove not working and nothing has been done to date. Then I reported both these complaints to Bob Bosworth, president of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club (who built and runs BP) multiple times and he has done nothing. When MacRae saw this review he was furious and unsuccessfully tried to evict me, accusing me of slander. ~Update 12/17~ FINALLY AND VERY THANKFULLY Bob MacRae is no longer our building manager!! ~Update 7/18~ Our new bldg manager, this year demanded that all tenants must pay a fee for the use of our air conditioners. I received emails and letters from him, even after I told him that I was advised that I didn’t have to pay this fee as I did not sign anything promising that I would. Since I, like some others, never signed a lease or any agreement promising to pay this fee, our local government legal office advised that I don’t have to pay this fee. I personally have little respect for the Rotary Club as they are responsible for hiring the people employed to manage Bonnie Place l and ll and have ignored the years of email complaints against Bob Macrae of what I consider to be the mistreatment of this senior community. This is an update on June 2/26. Because there have been so many complaints over the years management has been forced to change some things. We are no longer harassed to pay an air-conditioning fee even if we haven’t signed anything saying we would, under pressure management sent a letter around saying that air conditioner fees will no longer have to be paid. I’ve talked to a few people here where management walked into their apartment and threatened to take their air conditioner if they didn’t pay. Hard to believe I know. The Rotary club is behind everything that goes on in this place and there are plenty here who would agree that there has been an egregious abuse of power but enough people have fought back that things have gotten easier. I have learned to stay to myself and because of that I’m able to enjoy the apartment I live in.

I was chastised when I complained about the Super named Arthur. Instead of apologizing to me and look into the situation, Melanie defended him right away. I was hoping a better outcome but instead she said I was being negative and was berated by her. Thats all I asked for Christmas but I guess its too much to ask. Merry Christmas to all especially those who have big hearts. ❤️

I went to visit my best friend on her birthday yesterday. We wanted to watch the Toronto Blue Jay's game in the lovely common area and 2 people were sitting and chatting. I asked if they would mind if we watched the game. The woman looked at me and sighed and said "As long as the volume isn't on "! So we left. I bit my tongue as I don't live there thankfully. We had some cake and coffee in her room and the cigarette smoke throughout was unbearable. I was not impressed at all. Rude people and no regard for no smoking in rooms. The residents aren't living for free!!! Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear but as a first time visitor excited to visit my friend for the first time there I felt bad for her.
