I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time, but life became busy. My husband was a resident here for nearly three years, until he sadly passed away due to his illness. While no facility is perfect, I would describe this residence as a decent and caring place. I feel it is important to offer a perspective that reflects not only expectations, but also the realities of long-term care. To those who leave negative reviews, I gently suggest reflecting on the level of care required in these settings. If you are able to care for your loved one 24 hours a day, then that may be the best option for your family. However, if you entrust that responsibility to others, it is important to recognize the dedication and effort of those providing that care. During my time visiting my husband, I witnessed firsthand how demanding this work is. The staff often face very difficult situations—being yelled at, physically struck, or having food and drinks thrown at them—yet they continue to respond with patience, professionalism, and compassion. Not every staff member is the same, as is true in any workplace, but many truly strive to provide the best care possible under challenging circumstances. The building itself is older and the rooms are modest in size, but what stands out most is the kindness and commitment of the staff. They are not simply there to perform a job; they are there to care for people who are vulnerable and in need. That kind of work requires not only skill, but also genuine compassion and heart. I am grateful for the care my husband received during his time here, and I hope others can approach this place with understanding, realistic expectations, and appreciation for those who dedicate themselves to this difficult but meaningful work

Even though the facility is old the staff is wonderful. I dont know how they do what they do but bless their hearts. This is a tough job to do. Caring for people who can not care for themselves. This place may not be perfect but they are trying and willing to make improvements to provide quality care for their residents. I really appreciate the care they provided for my step-dad. Thank you for everything you have done for him. We will always be grateful.

This is what this facility did to my Mama.... !!!!!!...There's no compassion, no love, respect, very heartless. I've witnessed so much daily, the lack of attention, knowing that these precious residents have dementia, or other mental illnesses???. They just leave them there to rot away. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that this place is still running. They literally caused my Mama's death. Seeing is believing and there was nothing I could do. They never gave her the medications she was supposed to take that were mandatory. The management and staff laughed at me to which made me more livid than I was. They called the police on me. Heron the male nurse said he was going to have me banned from there to which the first day of my Mama's admittance????. He promised me she was in good hands..... I should have known from that day. 2400.00 a month to get a stale peanut butter and jam sandwich???. Seriously people..... I feel so sad for the residents there. All they want is to be loved, have someone to communicate with . But as God as my witness !!!!!. KARMA!!! KARMA!!!. WILL BE THERE. People who are reading this???. Please take this seriously. My Mama was all I had..... now she's gone. Because of Carresant Care in Fergus. Most of you all have family members who can take turns watching and taking care of your loved ones. Please do this. Get VONS, PSWS, I looked after my Mama all by myself. I'm ok with that. She's my Mama. 732 days... 24 hrs a day that I took care of her. I did a 3 shift PSW job. I'll never regret anything about this. But I do regret having her reside at Carresant Care in Fergus. Please be vigilant people. Thank you.
