Caring and wonderful staff. My Dad has been in respite for a month. He's been living mainly on his own with many plug in supports - first time at Long Term Care and we were worried he would be very upset by having to be there ( he's quite young but has dementia). instead, he doesn't want to leave... The staff are so good to him and really care - all of them are excellent. Truly impressed with the level of care he's receiving in the public system.

Locating decent elder care is extremely difficult and good elder care is almost impossible. Expectations differ from family member to family member and of course the resident themselves have expectations. I consider our experience to be exceptional because my Sister and I loved Ceaderview as did our Mother. She was confined to a wheelchair and they constantly checked on her, made sure she was clean and properly medicated at all times. I can count my objections on one or two fingers and they were minor at best and always handled swiftly and effectively. The staff is caring and interactive with the residents. They always had some type of daily activity and no matter the residents level of mobility there was something to participate in. I see some ratings here are not flattering but we never experienced anything like them. This is a difficult time for our parents to endure and it's impossible to please 100% of the people but Ceaderview did a darn good job. We highly recommend them.

Had an exchange with a staff person today in the parking lot today who instead of asking questions, showing concern, and learning anything about my visit, was accusatory, and rude. After have my father in a dementia ward at a long term care facility for two years, I've had experience with care givers; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'd think long and hard about taking a loved one here based on the interaction I had today.
