Updating this review from the original one of July 2024. Still 5 stars. Now my relative has been there a full year I'm better able to comment on more than just the lovely building/grounds and friendly staff. My only "complaint" relates to the accounting/financial systems employed by AON (the owners of Centennial) which is rather outdated and problematic. There's no electronic or credit/debit payment options, no option to get monthly invoices by email or online, the monthly invoices can be confusing and there have been errors, monthly invoices show deposits made to resident's "tuck shop" account but don't show the purchases made (unless asking for a specific separate printout of those transactions), deposits to the tuck shop account require mailing a cheque or driving to Millbrook with cash or cheque (it's 2024, this should all be online). However, I can overlook these office admin issues when considering everything else. The facilities are excellent (inside and out). The staff have been very caring and very attentive. Various staff (admin, nursing, dietician) have all called me with updates on care or issues of concern. Urgent medical issues have been attended to with prompt consultation with the doctor or transfer to hospital when needed. The doctor, while I have not spoken to him, seems very attentive (he visits the facility weekly, and otherwise as required is available to nursing staff on the phone or can attend in person from his nearby office in Millbrook). The food, excellent. The smaller dining rooms (one for each of the four wards or "houses") help in a variety of ways including building a sense of community with others (rather than wrangling 100+ residents down to a single large dining room). In room dining is an option, although not encouraged, and I did receive a call to inform me that my relative was choosing to have some meals in room rather than go to the dining room (staff wanting to make sure I know of this and don't have any concerns). One of the best ways to assess such a facility, perhaps, is to ask would I myself want to be there ... and the answer is absolutely YES, if I ever need long-term care I can only hope that I'm fortunate enough to get a spot at Centennial.

My mother was only here a short time but I can’t say enough great things about the staff and environment here. If you have doubts I recommend you take a tour. Very warm, comfortable and inviting space. Just wish my mom had had more time here.

Best place for your elderly! Warm, friendly environment, allows pets to come and visit, has gardens and out door court yards for visiting in, honestly a great place all around. I miss going there as my family member has passed. well done everyone!
