  From the moment I walked in for my tour I knew this was the place my dad would move! Welcoming, full of light and the sounds of residents socializing, Chartwell Collegiate Heights is not just about the beautiful spaces, it's the people. Staff go above and beyond to be sure your loved one is taken care of! There is not a resident that didn't see me in the hallway and say"hello". Their attention to details and the social calendar for residents went far beyond my expectations. A wonderful place and my dad loved his time there!

  I absolutely love working with the team at Chartwell Collegiate Heights Retirement Residence. I regularly come in to lead gentle movement and physical activity sessions with the residents, and it’s truly such a rewarding experience. A special thank you to Heidi, who consistently ensures these sessions are arranged and prioritized. It’s so important to keep residents engaged in physical activity as we age—not only for mobility, strength, and balance, but also for cognitive health, mood, and overall quality of life. Her dedication to making this happen does not go unnoticed. Every time I visit, the residents are cheerful, chatty, and full of smiles. There’s such a warm and welcoming energy throughout the building. From the moment you walk into the beautiful foyer, you feel invited in. Connecting and chatting with the residents is always heartwarming and reminds me how meaningful these interactions are. This is a residence that truly cares about its community and creating a positive, engaging environment for everyone who lives there.

  My mom Shirley has lived at Chartwell Collegiate Heights in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, for 7 years. When she first moved in, we weren't sure that she'd like it, after living in her own home for 71 years. We needn't have worried! Mom felt immediately at home there, comforted by everything from her suite ("it's just what I need"!); the warmth of the surroundings, and especially, the kindness and professionalism of every staff member. She calls it "home", which is the highest compliment of all for a retirement residence. On a daily basis, mom enjoys having a choice of activities to participate in, such as organized fitness classes; cooking (and sampling!) demonstrations; interactive and mind-stimulating games and lectures; frequent live music performances; church services; a library, and the simple pleasure of interacting with other residents and the friendly staff. During snow-free months, she enjoys walking the property grounds outside, checking out the gardens and plantings; enjoying a cold beverage on the patio, and simply sitting in the sun. Mom says she's "very content" with her life at Collegiate Heights. And as her family, we couldn't be happier for her, knowing that she's happy and well-cared for by all of the staff there. It's simply a very good place for her to be "at home"!
