Reading a recent review of this home, I was apprehensive when I heard that a family friend had chosen to make this residence her home. I decided to pay her a long overdue visit and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere when entering the front door! There’s a real sense of community here, residents were smiling, engaging in activities, and enjoying their surroundings (their home). Gardens of Wasaga Beach has a positive, welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel comfortable, and it’s clear that the team goes above and beyond to create a supportive and enjoyable environment. I was introduced to a number of staff and friends during my visit. There is a definite homey feel and I left confident that my friend had made a great choice. I will definitely be visiting more often and I encourage others looking for a place to live for a sense of safety and peace of mind to check this out! Highly recommend!

This place is terrible. If you’re thinking of putting your loved one or yourself here I’d have second thoughts. Had a friend staying here and they were not cared for properly. Soiled themselves, not checked on at night or in the day, not fed if they need help doing so, locked in their rooms, being yelled at by staff, the amount of neglect in this place is insane. Staff are 75% young girls who aren’t trained properly all they do is sit around and chit chat. One psw in particular would take pain meds from the cart they have and take them herself. Truly scared to think that they have untrained staff or no staff at all to take care of the elderly. Always ask to see their certificate to make sure they are qualified to take care of you. I’ve made so many calls to get this place checked out and never hear anything back. Staff is so good at lying their way out of things. Truly saddens me.

need to bring this to light. I recently visited my friend’s uncle, who is like a father to me, at this facility — and what I witnessed was extremely disturbing. The place was clearly short-staffed — only two staff members were present to care for all the residents. Are you serious? This kind of staffing level is not just insufficient — it’s dangerous. Residents were left waiting far too long for help, and the staff on duty were visibly overwhelmed. It’s impossible to provide proper care or attention in these conditions. Where is the management? Is this short staffing a result of cost-cutting? Because if it is, it’s happening at the expense of vulnerable seniors who rely on this facility for daily support. They charge crazy high fees, yet fail to deliver even basic quality care. That’s unacceptable. There’s a clear sign of poor management here. Families are trusting this place with their loved ones, but the reality is far from the promises. The environment felt more like neglect than a retirement community. If you’re considering this place for yourself or a loved one — think twice. Don’t be fooled by brochures or promises. Look deeper. Visit unannounced. Talk to hard working staff. Because behind the scenes, the truth is harsh — and heartbreaking.
