Drove to Welland with understanding that rates start at $2157 as per their website Price goes up to $2800 approximately on arrival $3000 if room needed tile While Dale was helpful prices were not worth it Shabby hallways needing paint and a lot of TLC etc. Common rooms had older furniture. The room was tiny without anything but a tap Carpet was still dirty room unpainted. No amenities like a fridge no cooking in rooms ...how about a sandwich, The price would go to $3000 if tiles installed No residents around ...I saw two people...1 smoking directly out front of this building and a lady Apparently they stay in their rooms between meals...no social aspect with this for myself or my dog. The snack area was without snacks...explaination residents take them all to their rooms Really, as uncomfortable it is for me to live alone ...(apartment living) this residence did not present any better options since I live in a brand new building right now for $1000 less and am free to make any meals or snacks that I wish. I do not have any opinion on the food but allow it to be said that I am on a total fitness and health plan and require whole wheat options eggs cheese fruit and vegetables I did not see a meal but in all fairness I am describing my eating my present eating comfort levels with the question "would this place provide such food items and actual snacks available"? Finally I got a bad vibe from Welland...some folks might like it but the location was confusing traveling from Hamilton Dale, I'm so sorry to give you a review that is not a stellar one but that is my experience with this place

While Plymouth Cordage appeared clean and meals were adequate, our overall experience was disappointing & stressful. Despite being upfront about our mothers care needs, providing the Director of Wellness with our mothers most recent "care assessment" documentation, once she was moved in, it became clear very quickly that the staff were not properly equipped or prepared to support her level of care. This proved to be significant disconnect between the sales/marketing team (who assured us her needs would be met) and the Director of Wellness. During our mothers short stay at PC, many of our interactions with staff & administration felt unwelcoming & defensive. Concerns often deflected to other staff members rather than addressed directly, with resolution after numerous follow-up phone calls & emails. It took persistence to get basic issues acknowledged and resolved, which was extremely disheartening during such a vulnerable transition period for our mother. What was especially concerning were the frequent suggestions in the evenings to send our mother to the emergency department for issues that could have been reasonably handled in the home with the assistance of care partner nurses. These recommendations felt more like an attempt to avoid dealing with the care needs on-site than a genuine reflection of medical necessity. In our view, Plymouth Cordage is not equipped or staffed to provide high-needs care. We placed our trust in the retirement home system and expected professionalism and transparency in helping us find an appropriate setting for our mother. Unfortunately, we were let down and placed in a compromised and stressful situation that could have been avoided with honest communication from the outset. Our mother should have never been allowed to be admitted, and had we been given a realistic understanding of the home's staffing levels & limitations we would not have made the decision to move her from her previous residence.
