With deep regret , our health care system is broken, I was in a position, where My health declined tremendously and near death, And the only Agency that I found that proved to be of some value was the “ In Home Nursing Division “ from Lhin. The Nurses that came into my home were very professional . My biggest complaint was not knowing which So Called Agency from OHIP to use , at first I was given the “Run Around” by many different Agencies that were under OHIP which at that point in time, I concluded that some of these Agencies were nothing but a money crab and offered nothing of value.LHIN is the only value that I recommend under the OHIP Umbrella

My mother-in-law has dementia and lives in a retirement home. Six weeks ago she developed a mass on her lymph nodes and began have migraines. Doctor's ordered a CT scan and learned she had multiple cancerous tumors. She became palliative and the LHIN became involved offering services such as a "Palliative Care Team" and a night nurse to stay with her. The night staffing is not reliable leaving my husband and I on-call, which was not good for our employers and our children. Sadly, the Nurse Practitioner failed to provide additional pain medication options before the weekend and my mother-in-law suffered in terrible pains in her head, mouth, stomach (from starving as she cannot swallow) and from bed sores all weekend as there are no practitioners available on the weekends to assist patients who are palliative. This horrible experience has traumatized my family as we watched our mother scream, cry and beg for help for hours. Honestly, I do not recommend the LHIN if your loved one is palliative.

my grandmother suffers from dementia, and has extremely high blood pressure and other heart conditions. while she has been hospitilized the LHIN has sent her home multiple times (despite doctors saying she should not be). they promised to send people but the people they send cannot do anything because my grandma has dementia, and doesnt trust them. (they do not know how to work with someone with dementia, bark out orders, are not patient or understanding, cause fear). they said my grandma is the responsibility of the family, with her kids being up there in age as well they are getting too old to care for her. at the rate she is going, she will die, thanks to LHIN intervention. absolutely appaling service.
