A Community That Truly Feels Like Home Living at PPII has given me far more than just a place to reside—it has given me a vibrant, caring community that I am proud to call home. One of the things that makes life here so special is the wide variety of activities available every single day. Whether it’s a friendly game of bingo, bean bag toss, bocce ball, floor shuffleboard, or even indoor curling, there is always something happening. For those who enjoy quieter pastimes, there are card games, board games, a pool table, Puzzle Alley, and of course, coffee time with friends—which is often the highlight of the day. For those who like a little friendly competition, tournaments are regularly held for games like cribbage, UNO, Kaiser, and more. Participating in activities also earns us “funny money,” which we can spend at the monthly auction—always a lively and laughter-filled event. Beyond the games, PPII offers so many wonderful amenities. We have a swimming pool, exercise room, movie theatre, craft room, chapel, tuck shop, and even a multi-purpose room with a full kitchen for family gatherings. There are also beautiful garden boxes for those who enjoy spending time outdoors. The social atmosphere is enhanced by weekly entertainment, happy hours, special celebrations for holidays like Christmas and Mother’s Day, and even Friends and Family Bingo. There is truly something for everyone, no matter your interests or abilities. What makes daily life even more comfortable are the many supportive services available. There is a nurse, nurse practitioner, and caring team of aides always nearby, along with services such as massage therapy and foot care. Housekeeping comes weekly, and laundry for bedding and towels is provided, which makes life that much easier. Getting around is simple thanks to our wonderful courtesy driver, who takes us on outings to restaurants, shopping centres, and even personal appointments. These trips are something we all look forward to. Dining is another highlight. Each day, we are offered two delicious choices for lunch and dinner. We can enjoy meals in the dining room with friends or choose to dine quietly in our own suites. Flexibility like this makes it feel truly like home. What stands out most to me, however, is the people. The management and reception staff are always warm, welcoming, and ready to help—or simply stop for a friendly chat. The maintenance and housekeeping teams are equally kind and always willing to lend a hand. And for those of us who love animals, it’s wonderful that small pets are welcome—along with visits from their “cousins,” which always bring smiles to everyone. At PPII, life is active, supported, and filled with connection. It is a place where you can remain independent while knowing help is always there if you need it—and where every day offers opportunities for friendship, laughter, and enjoyment.

I am grateful for the peace of mind I have because of the care my parent receives, since having moved in earlier this year. The staff and management are truly kind and caring; they take the extra steps, go the extra mile and treat the residents feel like family. There is always a solution and a strong can-do attitude. I'm SO glad for having made this choice for my parent's senior living home. The facilities and apartments are beautiful, and the activities are myriad, but they would be nothing without this team.

My 91 year old mom moved into Preston Park II this summer. The executive director and management team made the administrative tasks associated with the move extremely easy. We knew instantly mom would be in good hands. Once mom arrived the welcome she received was very warm. Staff and residents embraced her making the move from her home of 60 years as easy as possible. Mom’s transition was smooth; the caring nature of everyone, the excellent food, and the activities helped her embrace her new home. As a family we cannot say enough how much we appreciate the warm, happy group that works and lives at Preston Park.
