  I had a very disappointing experience at Wentworth Manor today. I arrived about ten minutes before what I understood to be a 1:00 PM tour appointment with Sandi on behalf of my parents, with my 10-month-old baby in tow. It appears there was a scheduling mix-up - Sandi had recorded the appointment as 1:30 PM. Honest mistakes happen, and I don’t fault anyone for a miscommunication. What I do fault is how it was handled. The receptionist was lovely - she spent over 30 minutes trying to locate Sandi and was genuinely apologetic throughout. But when Sandi finally arrived in the lobby and the receptionist tried to let her know I’d been waiting, Sandi’s response — within earshot of me — was a gruff “well, they can wait, the appointment’s at 1:30.” By that point I had been waiting almost 40 minutes with an infant. The dismissiveness was enough that I chose to leave without taking the tour. Families touring long-term care facilities are often navigating one of the most difficult chapters of their lives. They deserve to be met with compassion and professionalism, regardless of a calendar discrepancy. Based on today’s experience, I’d encourage this facility to take a hard look at how prospective families are welcomed - and I’d caution others to temper their expectations.

  For an assisted living facility, my mother really likes it. The staff is very kind and friendly.

  On behalf of our family, I am letting others know how much we appreciated the care, compassion and support provided by the staff of Wentworth Court to our step father while his health was failing and during and after his death. We were blown away by the care the staff took to support our mother through this process and to provide coffee, food and aid which meant so much to all of us. They were truly present to our whole family and ensured we were always aware and could anticipate my step father and mother’s needs throughout this trying time. We thank the wonderful staff with all our hearts!
