Staff is not fully trained at all. Staff will actually assault the residents and the management will not take it serious. The management will try to cover their side and keep safe their employee who assaults the resident.

While there were 3 or 4 staff that were warm, welcoming and caring, the majority were cold and unfeeling. My mom often had cuts and bruising from tough treatment, a swollen arm which no one noticed until I pointed it out. She told me very clearly how a staff had pulled on it and hurt her during changing even though she told them to stop. I often heard her say don’t be so rough. When reported we were met with lame excuses blaming my mom for her own injuries which were impossible due to restrictive mobility. Clothing and personal item often missing even though clearly labeled. We were told about events and activities but she was never included unless I took off work and took her. She had difficulty eating and unless I came to assist she would get a few bites and then they took it away with the excuse she didn’t eat fast enough. They lost her bottom dentures without so much as an apology and staff commented she doesn’t need them anyway, she’s on soft foods. I was in the process of looking to have her moved when she had a stroke and passed. At time of her stroke I received a 2:30am phone call saying. We think she had a stroke do you want us to call an ambulance and take to hospital? Um… yes!!! I witnessed other residents also not included in events. Day after day they were parked in their chair in front of the window looking out. That’s where they stayed all day everyday unlit was meal time. It will haunt me forever that my mom’s last months were in this place.
