I stayed one week for rehab (at 43 Bruyere) after knee surgery after I had been hit by a car. First I was at the Civic, then at Bruyere Greystone then at Elizabeth Bruyere. I was scheduled to be at Elizabeth Bruyere for rehab for 2 weeks, although I left after one week. Nurses and Doctor on the 3rd floor were very good. Manager and social worker were very cold and I was blindsided by them and felt like a number. I wasn't able to accept that and thus moved on after 1 week to stay temporarily at a retirement home instead. So very very discouraging after paying taxes in Ontario for 55 years. I did appreciate the nurses and doctors and physiotherapist. Manager and social worker were extremely uncaring.

It’s been frustrating trying to get help from the office staff. They’re never available on site when assistance is needed. In a hospital setting, having administrative staff accessible on-site full time is important for the Ottawa community. It’s time for corporate and office staff to return to working in person just like other organisations to help the moral and to better support patients and families. I need to say that the doctors and nurses provide very good care. They are professional, kind, and truly dedicated to their patients, and that is greatly appreciated. My mother in law had good care.

My father was admitted to the Palliative Care Unit at Bruyere for end of life care. The Dr's, Nurses and PCA's at this facility are extraordinary. The care and compassion these professionals give is world class. I read another review that said this facility is patient first and staff second, which I couldn't agree more with. The care team prioritized comfort and peace over procedure or policy and all of them took the time to do the little things that matter. From regular personal care to fulfilling special requests, the staff at the palliative care unit go above and beyond their call of duty. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for caring for my father as if he were part of your own family. Much love and respect to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Bruyere Health Palliative Care Unit.
