Update: Worst place you could let your loved one stay in. Despite my comments below about some staff members. Management and medical team not only staff members, are negligent and clearly careless people. They move people in and out of hospitals and rooms for no reason and put people at risk with no valid reasons!!! I pray to God this facility gets the right kind of people that will determine their future because Ottawa deserves a better alternative facility with people who truly want to make a difference. I recently got a voice message about my dad being a concern. (Seemed to have had memory loss) didn’t get to speak to him so not sure how much of this is true. The excuse to have him transferred to Civic hospital, is confusion and seemed like he might have COVID. He gets transferred to the civic… in a room full of people who actually have Covid, gets tested, is negative and for some reason as soon as he gets at civic, the staff notices he isn’t confused and is very independent, so they don’t understand why he was sent to them especially after all the test completed are clear with no concerns… When in contact with Bruyere Dr. Bradski, she was quick to express that she didn’t know what was going on even tho my dad had been reported stable at the hospital and that they wanted to bring him back to Bruyere. She also mentioned, now that my dad is no longer a patient at their facility, couldn’t explain to me how he seemed confused and mentioned, my dad doesn’t have to come back, I could take him home. It had been exactly 24 hours and she was telling me he was already discharged at Bruyere and wasn't sure if his things were still there but couldn’t direct me to someone who could tell me, she was also very short and didn’t offer any other details. WORST PLACE EVER, I had heard of this place, but didn’t know. Now I know. I wish better for everyone in the city of Ottawa. Old partial review: I live in Toronto and my parents in Ottawa, so I missed a month and a couple weeks of work to be there and help out as much as I can. My father deals with memory issues ever since his stroke, and the staff and management haven’t taken the proper steps to make things more stable for his condition, by moving him rooms and letting us know after the fact instead of having us involved with this decision and explaining to him, which in my opinion would be beneficial for his recovery. The staff here are clearly not educated enough and proper ways to run a continuing care! There are some really nice nurses there, who do their job with so much care and class and it’s unfortunate that not everyone is properly trained to speak to families. I feel like my father was in better hands at the Civic Hospital and they have a worst rating then this place, but in the end shouldn’t. Whoever is involved with this facility, really needs to assess how it runs and implement new procedures to avoid negligence and disrespect from certain staff members like Nurse Joyce and Augustine. The most 2 uneducated medical staff members I have ever encountered.

The caregivers are amazing, however the administrative staff are appalling! Never answer the phone can't see my Mom when I make appointments to see her 50% of my visits with my Mom have been screwed up and they don't bring her out for her visits!! There is one girl in particular who is at the front desk not at 75 Bruyere the other entrance she sits on the left hand side when you walk in she has very long braids, she goes out of her way to make things difficult!
