I had a great experience with the service at the Dr. Mathi’s office. The procedure I needed was done and took about 30 minutes (consultation and procedure). Dr. Mathi managed the pain effectively and educated me well on post-care and recovery. The office’s business hours are very convenient for working people. I was satisfied with the service and would recommend Dr. Mathi to everyone in need for foot issues.

I visited Halton Foot & Orthotic Clinic for an ingrown toenail. The practitioner was polite, but I left disappointed with the experience. Before booking, I called to confirm whether they treat ingrown toenails and was told they do, and that only more severe cases might require surgery. However, during my visit, the first solution presented to me was surgery (around $400), which was surprising given that my case did not seem severe. I was also clearly told that they do not perform nail trimming or non-surgical treatment for ingrown toenails, which was also heard by my partner. This was confusing, as their website states that ingrown toenails are treated and that both non-surgical and surgical options may be available depending on severity. As a diabetic patient, I expected a more thorough evaluation. In a previous appointment at a different clinic with another specialist (in December), I received a more comprehensive assessment, including circulation, sensitivity, and overall foot health. In comparison, this consultation felt very limited and did not include that level of evaluation, which made me feel that my main concern was not properly addressed. I will now need to seek a second opinion, which means additional cost. While the staff was kind, the service did not meet my expectations. I recommend confirming exactly what services are provided before booking. ***************************************** After reading the clinic’s response to my review, I would like to clarify a few points regarding my personal experience. My intention was never to say that I received bad service, because everyone was respectful during my visit. I also appreciate the clinic taking the time to address my concerns and communicate openly. I also wanted to mention that I did respond to the email that was sent to me, as my current workload makes it difficult for me to take phone calls at the moment, so I preferred to communicate through email. As a diabetic patient experiencing pain and discomfort, what I was mainly looking for was immediate relief and a more hands-on approach to helping the situation. After seeking a second opinion, another specialist explained that the issue was not actually an ingrown toenail, but inflamed skin around the area, and the discomfort was resolved within minutes. They also performed additional diabetic foot checks, including sensitivity and circulation assessments, which I personally valued. I also understand the explanation regarding the surgery discussion. I understood that the recommendation was only in the event that the issue continued, worsened, or became recurrent in the future, and that surgery could help prevent future ingrown toenails. I also understand that, based on what was observed during my visit, it appeared I may have cut the nail improperly and that there was still a small piece remaining that could potentially worsen later. I appreciated the preventative explanation for the future. However, since I had never previously experienced an ingrown toenail, and after another specialist assessed the area and explained that it was actually inflamed skin rather than an ingrown nail, it confirmed what I had initially suspected. That said, from my perspective as a patient, I did not leave feeling that the immediate discomfort had been relieved, which was my main concern at the time, especially considering the urgency of the situation and my condition as a diabetic patient. Again, I want to emphasize that this was not a matter of rude treatment or poor professionalism. This was simply my honest personal experience as a first-time patient, and I believe patient feedback is always valuable in helping improve the overall patient experience. I sincerely appreciate the follow-up and wish the clinic all the best moving forward.

I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth and painless process to have my ingrown nail portion removed. I highly recommend Doctor Eric! He explained the process and performed the procedure very well.
