⭐☆☆☆☆ I was referred to Viner Kennedy LLP by my realtor and initially had a very positive impression. I called ahead and clearly explained my situation: my spouse and I are both in the military, we were being posted to the UK this summer, and I was selling my house. I specifically asked whether they could handle the sale and I also asked if they could prepare a power of attorney so my parents could assist us in Canada if any issues came up while we were overseas. I was assured that this would not be a problem and discussed the dates we would need everything done by. They told me they would take care of everything and simply asked that my realtor send over the sale paperwork. A few days later, after the sale paperwork was sent to them, they emailed my realtor back saying they could not act because I hadn’t informed them that I was being relocated… That was incredibly frustrating because the relocation was the very first thing I discussed with them on my initial phone call. Had they paid attention or advised me at that point that they couldn’t act, I would have found another lawyer immediately instead of losing time. Extremely disappointing, especially given the time-sensitive nature of a military posting. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm and would suggest looking elsewhere if you need reliable communication and follow-through.
