Can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr Zaid Mammo & his team. I’ve had 3 retina surgeries & countless follow-up appointments over the past 9 months, and am constantly impressed by his incredible dedication & skill, and his consistent focus & kindness despite a clearly grueling work schedule. His team of residents/nurses/receptionists is also fantastic, working diligently and compassionately while always facing a packed waiting room. I feel unlucky to have experienced a retinal detachment, but so incredibly fortunate & grateful to have landed on Dr Mammo & his amazing team. For the life of me I cannot understand all the petty, ungracious reviews here, which mostly relate to long waits or curt treatment (really, 1 star out of 5 because you once had to wait 2 hours? Seriously?) The staff here treat a mind-boggling number of patients each day, professionally and efficiently, often starting at 7AM as well as weekends. These are people who’ve dedicated their lives to complex medicine & to healing us. A bit more grace, patience and gratitude seems fair.

My long-term boyfriend, Robert Legault, was supposed to get his other eye done here at the end of September, but they rescheduled it, and by the time he was supposed to go last week, they forgot about it! Then they rescheduled it for this week, but because of the state of his eye, he fell and hit his head and it caused a brain bleed! He's now in the ICU in VGH, and can't talk well now and may never walk again because of the negligence of these people! He had been complaining for months and they should've acted sooner! Now it's too late! That's why it's absolutely critical that medical professionals act on things like this immediately, and call people to come in the next day for the surgery! The people responsible for this needs to be fired and hand themselves over to the police! I feel like I want to take them to court and have them ordered to pay the damages! Our Healthcare is broken because of people like this that want to neglect people in need!

WAY OVER BOOKED!! The Health Board should look into this. They even called six people while i waited but they left...Disabled, senior with medical conditions, should not have to wait 6 hours, not to mention some people cannot get not get back thier lost wages...Yes emergency happens but everyday? And rebook then....The receptionist left...people could not even go to the washroom or get something to eat as they may call your name...This was one doctor...do not know about the rest..Shameful!! Patients make sure you have all your days medication with you, breakfast, lunch and dinner....hell bring a cooler, porta pottie, and extra phone power.
