Care works province by province
Retirement homes are licensed by provincial bodies like Ontario's RHRA, home care is funded differently in every province, and long-term care is arranged through provincial health systems. Our pages follow those rules.
Canadian prices and programs
Prices in Canadian dollars from Canadian listings, and the help that applies here: the Disability Tax Credit, the Home Accessibility Tax Credit and provincial home care and assistive device programs.
Quebec in French
Families in Quebec can browse certified seniors' residences (RPA) and home care in French, with certified residences checked against Quebec's own register.
Many of the big senior care referral services were built in the United States, around American licensing, insurance and funding. When they list Canadian homes, the guidance can miss what matters here: the provincial licence to check, the public programs your parent may qualify for, and what care really costs in Canadian dollars.
That gap is how families get pointed in the wrong direction. We check listings against Canadian registers wherever one applies, and our advisors know how care works here, province by province.
