Very bad experience having a simple, short hand rail installed at a 3 step entrance. Installer was 'tipsy' and measured from the first step down instead from the landing. He couldn't figure out why the railing "didn't look right". I, being a single woman, didn't know anything about installing hands rails, which is why I choose to hire someone. But since he was confused I searched online & found a YouTube showing the MAN measuring from the landing, not the first step down. When I showed him. he said no I do these all the time & I always measure from the first step down. I tried 3 times to politely & diplomatically suggest he try it the way the YouTube suggested, or contact his head office or a fellow handyman. He kept treating like I was a stupid woman, a lesser human. I finally gave up, fuming inside. When he was done I went straight over to my neighbors to measure her hands rail & sure enough the YouTube was correct. You do measure from the landing. Then I contacted head office & spoke to Brad who also treated me like like I was inferior & refused to believe my concerns, saying that Daryl had been with them for a long time & always did good work. He asked me to send photos which I did & he said it looked fine in the photo! Unbelievable!! Such a lack of professionalism & basic common sense, nevermind common decency! Newsflash, you can't tell if a railing is installed correctly from a photo! He finally agreed to send someone to have a look & my mother (for whose visit I was specifically having the railing installed) & brother had both arrived in time to see the priceless expression on the new handyman's face as soon as he walked in the door & saw it. You could tell he knew right away it was done dead wrong. So, I spent approximately 14 hours fighting to get it done correctly & still had to pay. I could easily have spent those 14 hours to teach myself how to do it for free!!! The thing is I thought I was making a practical decision to save my time for other things I needed to do. If I was going to be installing multiple have rails it would be worth the time to learn. But since I wasn't planning to & had so much else to do.... I mean isn't that what the service is supposed to be for?! And I sure didn't appreciate the misogyny either. This company may want to reflect on their practices & how it impacts their business given that single women who typically already have too much on their plate would logically be their biggest customer base. Why would you want to disrespect them & treat them poorly?

Darren came out to fix my Sump Pump. He carefully assessed the situation and explained where things were at. He gave me a Quote which was fairly reasonable. He installed a high quality Sump Pump quickly, effectively and without any mess. Walked me through what was done and tested the new pump. All was good and painless experience. They have been my go to Company for all house repairs and maintenance. Try them out. You will have an excellent experience.

Prompt response upon initial contact request. Handyman Allan was realistic in his assessment of my plan and pointed out what works and what wouldn't work and where I could save money. The work itself was done within 2 appointments. Allan was punctual and communicative during his work time at my place. Payments were made fairly easily over e-transfer so I didn't have to use my card number over the phone or online.
