My loved one has been a resident for the past 3 weeks and my family has been very impressed by the physical facility and staff. There are many activities for residents (exercise, art, games, music) and residents are treated with kindness and respect by CCA's, nurses and recreation staff. Housekeeping and dietary staff know residents by name and our floor manager has really gone beyond in making small changes to maximize quality of life. One area of frustration has been communication. Although the main desk receptionist is excellent, the phone is sometimes covered by people that aren't able to operate the switchboard. Fairly often the main phone line goes straight to voicemail (as it has been all day long today) and messages are not responded to. Emails to staff and the general Shannex contact email are either not received or not responded to.
