  Our family recently moved my 86-year-old father into Chartwell Harwood in Ajax, and the experience has been exceptional from start to finish. After losing my mother, my dad had become very lonely at home, and moving here has truly been the fresh start and sense of community he needed. A huge part of making this transition so positive was our Chartwell Ambassador Ashley. From our very first tour, she was incredibly warm, patient, and supportive. She guided us through every step of the process, answered dozens of emails and questions with kindness and professionalism, and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and reassuring. Ashley went above and beyond — from arranging a complimentary lunch and introducing my father to residents before move-in, to being there throughout move day with a welcome package, checking in on us regularly, and even bringing us lunch during the move. In the days afterward, she continued to follow up to make sure my dad was settling in comfortably and adjusting well. She also thoughtfully arranged seating at meals so he could meet other residents and begin forming friendships right away. The one bedroom unit my father moved into was clean and fresh having undergone a recent update with new flooring and cabinets. The facilities are well maintained and have all the amenities my dad could want, most importantly an exercise room with fitness classes to help him keep his mobility, The level of care, compassion, and personal attention we experienced has meant so much to our family. We are deeply grateful to Ashley and the entire team at Chartwell Harwood for making this important life transition such a positive one for my father.

  We’ve had a great experience with transitioning my parents into Chartwell Harwood. From the first moment we walked in the door Ashley and her team were nothing but supportive and helpful. Making the transition to a retirement home has been a stressful process for my parents but I feel that they are in great hands at Chartwell. My dad is currently in the hospital and was unable to be present for the health assessment. Ashely and Christina offered to go to the hospital and do the assessment there, which was a huge help for us. I feel very confident that both my parents will be well taken care of at Chartwell!

  From the moment my Mother and I visited Chartwell Retirement Residence in Ajax we felt very welcome. Ashley greeted us with her cheerful and friendly nature. My 90 year old Mother Shirley is making a lifestyle change and Ashley’s attention and empathy towards my Mother was so appreciated as she was deciding where to move to. I am pleased to report my Mother is moving to Chartwell very soon. Thank you Ashley for your support!
