  I attended a tour of Conestoga Lodge with my elderly neighbour on Friday March 6, 2026. I was helping him find a Semi-Private Room. We found the room to be suitable, but had another viewing booked at another place on Monday March 9, 2026. I decided to secure the room at Conestoga Lodge with a $500 E-transfer and was told by Bhavik, the manager, that it was a guaranteed refund if we change our minds. We ended up viewing the other Retirement home on Monday and quickly notified Bhavik at Conestoga Lodge that we would not be taking the room at Conestoga Lodge. I asked for my deposit back asap and he said "He'd see what he could do." I said that "I wanted my refund back ASAP as I was nice enough to give it to him the day of viewing and I expect the money back into my account also on same day that I notified him of our right to refusal! My money was not refunded on Monday, needless to say I was not impressed. Tuesday I contacted Bhavik and asked again, why my money wasn't returned to me. He said that "he had sent a message off to Head Office and that "SHE", AT HEAD OFFICE , REPLIED THAT "SHE" WAS OUT OF COUNTRY AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE MY REFUND IN 7 DAYS!!" (which would be 10 days after I put down the deposit) I AM REALLY LIVID ABOUT THIS AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY "SHE" CANNOT SEND ME MY E-TRANSFER BACK WHILE SHE IS OUT OF COUNTRY? WHAT A LOAD OF LIES THAT "SHE" IS OUT OF COUNTRY! I AM FOLLOWING UP WITH LEGAL ACTION. I'M SO GLAD THAT WE DID NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE. THEY ARE WITHOLDING MY FUNDS SIMPLY FOR A POTENTIAL RESIDENT ( MY NEIGHBOUR) AND IT'S NOT EVEN HIS MONEY, IT'S MINE BEING HELD, AS I WAS JUST HELPING HIM OUT BECAUSE HE DOES NOT DO E-TRANSFERS. THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW THEY REALLY DO BUSINESS. I AM VERY UPSET BY THIS! I WILL BE CONTACTING MY LAWYER!

  My 86 year old Mother fell and fractured her arm. I live in Alberta so Mom was in the hospital for nearly a week until I could get here. It happened over Easter weekend and could not make arrangements until I arrived but talked to Jon at Conestoga Lodge to see if they had a room for respite care over Easter, as that’s what my mother wanted to go until she could manage on her own. It is her second respite stay at Conestoga Lodge. Jon was very responsive and so helpful. All the staff have been great. We moved the room around many times for the best comfort for Mom. She could not get comfortable in a chair so they brought her in an electric recliner. Staff is so caring and attentive. You are part of the Conestoga lodge Family. Thank-you everyone.

  Absolutely top notch, caring, wonderful staff. The level of care was superb. Food was quite good. My father began suffering from some health problems, but they went over and above to attempt to meet his needs. Considering the extra burdens and restrictions because of Covid, it was especially noteworthy.
