I just wanted to say that we were miss led when my mother in -law was put in here. She was supposed be in here until she went to a long term home, but they blind sided us and after about 2 weeks of being in there and having a fall and got a brain bleed said she was fine and had we had to take her home. I said she has to be able to walk and they assured me that she could walk with one person helping but let me tell you they lied and it took 2 of us to get her into the house. They told me if I didn't go and pick her up that they would send her home in a taxi. Now is that any way to treat people. Doctor Skunta she is only in it the money not very caring and not very friendly to the family, trying to rush people out when they are not ready or fit to be sent home. Some of the nurses were good

If a family member is not the POA, the staff treats them like a stranger to their loved one. Even if they are the primary care giver in town. The facility including the management, has said because your not the POA for him we cannot disclose anything in regard to your loved one to you. So our loved ones is pretty much on their own. We are not allowed to care for them. Especially if the POA is out of province not here, Our loved ones is over medicated on antipsychotic drugs, my dad has had a few bad experiences here. But they continue to manipulate the situation. the staff and management, intimidates the residents. Aweful place to have to live out our last days. My dad can't even be happy spiritually, they have destroyed God's light in him. The strong smell of perfumes at the nurses station is overbearing, this is LTC not a salon, I see staff standing fixing their hair, self resumed, while the poor residents are nauseous from the strong scents, I can barely breath while trying to visit, nothing worst then the residents trying to eat their lunch, when along comes miss barbie smelling like a perfume bottle, there goes lunch. Have these care givers no respect for others sensitivity to to scents, as I was trying to visit my dad, a young worker entered his room, the strong scent from her perfume was so bad, my eyes were burning, my poor dad went into sneezing mode, they should not be allowed to wear scents in these facilities. They are so unorganized, the staff at the nurses station always looks so confused, asks a question, and they look at you like (I DON'T KNOW ! ). Before you know it your visit is over, and still no answer. Worst LTC facility. Sad part we are limited to our long term facilities and their availability.

There's no LTC facility that doesn't have staff shortage problems, so I'm not going to address that issue. The residents I've seen look pretty happy and well taken care of. It's in a really nice area and I see people with their walkers, wheelchairs and by foot going for an evening stroll or sun tanning on warm summer days.
