I cannot say enough about Steve and Just like Family Home Care. The assessment meeting with Steve was so relaxing and stress free. He went through everything to make sure my needs were met. My home careworker was delightful, showed up on time and took care of my personal and home care needs. Would highly recommend for you and your loved ones homecare needs.

Steve and his team of caregivers at Just Like Family stood head and shoulders above all the other home care service providers we have interacted with in the North Okanagan. My 92 yr old father fell and broke his hip and we needed full time 24/7 care in his own home. He also had dementia which made the situation even trickier. Steve showed up immediately and did a thorough in-home inspection to ensure his staff would be safe, met with me and my dad to fully understand his needs, carefully assessed the entire situation, and found us the perfect match (including overnight care). No other service provider bothered to meet with us personally, or show even the slightest interest in our living situation, nor did they ask any questions about dad. The extremely high level of empathy, compassion, attention to detail, and sincere concern for my father's well-being that Steve and his team showed was a huge comfort and made my heart melt. THANK YOU Steve and team, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you did to make my dad's final months so comfortable. I am very grateful that Just Like Family Home Care was available to support me when I was in a crisis. I had broken my shoulder and I could not take care of myself, I lived in a reclining chair for 8 weeks. The day after my injury, my husband contacted Interior Health and he was told it would be 3 weeks before they could send a home care aid. We called a number of private home care service providers like the Nurse Next Door but the wait list was 3-4 months. After 3weeks Interior Health sent a home care aid to feed me lunch and she was late. I have to eat at a certain time because food will interfere with my medication so I had already eaten. When I said that i had eaten and that she could do the dishes I was told that no she could only do what was identified on the work order. The next day no one came and no one notified me that I would not be provided with a home care aid. The 3rd day there was a different care aid and when I asked him to cook me a meal he said he could only feed me a prepared meal. My husband and I decided this was not working and so we phoned interior health and told them that we did not want their home care service anymore. We had heard about Just Like Family Home Care so we contacted Steve Miller and he came the next day and had someone assigned to me the following day. This was such a relief 😮💨 and I was told that I would have 1 person assigned to me that Steve believed would be a good fit. Kathy was my care aid and she was wonderful - she was always on time and her smile brightened my day. She was keen and motivated to do whatever I needed help with laundry, house cleaning, bathing, shopping, and cooking - maybe even a little gardening. I highly recommend Just Like Family Home Care. I felt like Kathy was part of my family - she really cared about me as a person and when I was strong enough to take care of myself again - it was hard to say goodbye💕Deborah
