A very spacious, well equipped and maintained facility. The residents’ rooms are shared, but with a half wall that provides privacy. They have a comfortable feel, are very large, bright and airy. With adequate room for several family and friends visits There’s optional TV and Cable.access. The bathrooms are well designed for easy wheelchair or walker accessibility. The management and staff members are warm and attentive. Great activities throughout the week. There are a few resident pets, a rabbit, cockatiel, and a friendly cat….and carp and goldfish in the courtyard pool. All and all our family is grateful for Carol’s placement here. We are confident she will settle in and the staff and nurses are making every effort that runs as smooth as that can be !

My 86 year old father with dementia and now no mobility got admitted about 3 weeks ago and what a WONDERFUL place Kinsman Lodge has turned out to be. He had been in the hospital for the last 6 months due to his ongoing falls caused by his dementia which also triggered a mini-stroke. He was wasting away in the hospital. But still SO grateful for all the amazing staff who took care of him everyday there. But still it was a hospital, not meant to be a care home. Alas at Kinsmen it’s CLEAN, bright, cheery, homey/comfy, with modernized equipment to care for his bathroom needs, the main event when one loses their mobility. Moreover I’ve been so pleasantly surprised with the caring, diligent, professional and very kind and friendly staff ranging from the nurses, assistants, to the recreation coordinators/assistants who’ve all been so welcoming to my father. I especially love the daily activities provided to keep residents active, stimulated and engaged. At the hospital he would just sit in his wheelchair all day, pretty much felt like he was just waiting to die. But at Kinsman they don’t just survive but also focus on LIVING. There’s a lot of greenery and a beautiful garden on the main floor for residents, esp now in the heat of the summer, to be resting n enjoying the summer weather in a shaded oasis. It’s a happening place with lively music being played in the background. He’s got his own room, mounted TV, clean bathroom with installed equipment to manoeuvre him. They’ve thought of everything. My siblings and I feel so reassured that our father is in good hands. Providing round the clock care. After 6 months of stress, anxiety and sadness we feel so relieved and so much more hopeful about his state of being.

My mom has been here a few months now and the staff and management all seem very kind and capable in managing people with dementia. They are accommodating to visitors and family.
