My mom has been @ Lakeside Gdns since March, 2019. We heard about it from a neighbour, who's father was there. The place is so comfortable, much of the staff have worked there for many yrs./decades.. they do the job b/c they are passionate. There are many activities- my mom doesn't partake in any EXCEPT she loves to dances & does when there's entertainment :) Mom has her own 1 bdrm. suite & has as much independence as is possible for a 91 yr. old who can't get out on her own anymore .. the residents are also lively & lovely. All in all, it has been a lifesaver for mom & me and she's comfortable there. Even through the Covid lockdown, staff did little things to help residents, little things add up & make all the difference .. Wholehearted THANK YOU to ALL of the staff. ♥

The Weeknd my mother moved in to Lakeside Gardens was the weekend that the lockdowns began do the covid-19. While this made a very difficult transition for my mother, the management and staff did everything possible to welcome her and her dog to the facility. Well nothing is ever perfect, and I am sure it is difficult for seniors moving into an assisted living situation, most likely after losing a spouse, we did find that efforts were made to improve situations if necessary. During the past 16 months the challenges for both residents and staff at Lakeside are probably hard to imagine, but the staff should be recognized for their excellence in keeping the residents safe. One can only hope that as of tomorrow life will be back to normal.

My Mom, Phyliss Haigh lived at Lakeside Gardens for over ten years. After her Alzheimer’s progressed, Mom moved to Longterm care. She passed 2 years ago. I wrote a story about an event my Mom and I shared while she was living at Lakeside Gardens. That story is now in the new Chicken Soup for the Soul book that just came out. We both loved everyone at Lakeside Gardens. The book is titled Chicken Soup for the Soul Navigating Eldercare and Dementia.
