We had to place my father in law in LTC say Leacock. Everyone so far has been wonderful, pleasant and friendly! The intake was fast and professional with Charmy and Sheena! The rooms are nice and clean and they were all ready for us! Bruce the handyman for the centre was friendly and accommodating for my father in laws tv! So far so good and thanks to staff for warm welcome!

While the home strives greatly to maintain a good public image, cutting the lawn and manicuring the gardens is not what LTC is all about. I have been a resident here for a short time and am concerned about the quality and quantity of the staff. When I call fr assistance it is not uncommon to wait 20 - 30 minutes for staff to respond. Many staff members appear to need more training and the "Staff culture" is seriously flawed. Staff complain a lot about understaffing and lack of supplies and reduced quality of the supplies that they do have. Taking their breaks and leaving on time seems to be their prime motivation, although a few employees are indeed quite dedicated. The food is unhealthy. A lot of processed foods with salt, additives and sugar. Very little " home cooked " food. All in all, I am disappointed with the care I receive here. To be fair, management is in the midst of a large renovation and rejuvenation project and should be allowed a little time to see if they can address these and other outstanding issues

Recently my dear 96 year old Mother passed peacefully at Leacock LTC where she lived for the past 3 years. The nurses, PSW's, doctor and entire staff at Leacock provided her a caring home away from home. Even in her final days she was cared for with dignity and love. Thank you Leacock!
