  I was visiting a resident recently and was really confused about a couple of things, but there was one worker there (I think Akshita was her name) who was so kind, patient, and welcoming the whole time. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel much more comfortable. Really appreciated her positive attitude and support! Great staff!

  This review is for Chef Bhye. We recently celebrated my husband's birthday here with friends in the Victory Room. I asked the chef to prepare us the bruschetta he made for us for the weekly Thirsty Thursday get together (free drink and appies). This was the tastiest bruschetta I have ever had. And, to take the cake, I asked Chef Bhye if he would make the ribs, one bone, 3 per person, that he made on another Thirsty Thursday, because they were so good I could have eaten a whole plate of them. Obviously, our guests were thrilled with the appetizers and just raved about them. Honestly, I felt so proud that our chef was able to provide such delicacies for us and our guests. At this facility, we are offered the amazing opportunity to have the chef cook special dishes just for us. We are only charged cost for ingredients the kitchen supplies. We discovered this one day when my husband went to pick up a dinner order, and the man beside him put two steaks down and asked that one be medium and the other medium rare. So, for our friend's birthday party (4 of us), we got 4 beef tenderloin steaks and asked the chef to cook them medium rare. They were perfectly cooked and just delicious with a nice sear as well. We also asked to have 4 loaded baked potatoes as they are always moist and fluffy inside, and a special apple walnut salad with candied walnuts. The chef even included some coleslaw. We are very fortunate to have Chef Bhye. He is a real asset.

  I am absolutely appalled by the lack of care and management at The Arbours at Linden Pointe. My grandmother was in hospital and discharged with the understanding that The Arbours would be able to attend to her needs, and they certainly have not. For the exorbitant amount of money this facility charges ($8000), one would expect at least the basics of care and compassion, but instead, she is left waiting endlessly for assistance, her needs ignored. Upon arriving to visit her, I find her in the dining room, alone at a table with a full plate of food in front of her and zero assistance from staff. She is unable to eat on her own and is going to starve if someone does not help her. She also mentioned that no one helps her use the washroom throughout the day or helps her drink any liquids. Her only way to use the washroom is to soil herself. She was extremely dehydrated and had a very bad headache due to zero water given to her. On top of it all, they have also been taking items such as her elderly diapers and giving them to other residents who run out. I know this because she ran out of hers almost immediately after we purchased her a new package and I witnessed them take from another resident to give to her. Instead of replacing her soiled sheets with the clean ones we bought for her, they replaced them with a thin blanket that was too small and taken from somewhere else. The staff cannot even be bothered to see that she has a drawer in her suite labeled "sheets". It is heartbreaking to see a place that is supposed to provide care and dignity for elderly residents instead operate with such blatant disregard for their well-being. If you are considering this facility for a loved one, I urge you to look elsewhere. While the staff are friendly, the lack of management and organization is very apparent. Management needs to take immediate action to address the severe understaffing and lack of accountability before more residents experience the same mistreatment. The thought of her being ignored unless her family is there to advocate for her is heartbreaking. I don't usually leave reviews but I feel helpless in this situation as the staff are not returning our calls.
