  This 'canteen' is located inside Markham Mon Sheong Court which is a private property Hence, it provides the catering service for the residents and their visitors only. Recently, the previous operator had terminated the contract and a new operator was invited to run the business. At present, its opening hour has been extended from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm everyday,except Wednesday and public holiday. Meanwhile, it offers more choices its menu. Last Saturday, we visited this canteen with our family members and ordered combo for 4 with an additional dish of chicken (which must be specially requested and pre-ordered). On the whole, all the dishes were prepared with flavor rather bland, bu it was suitable for the seniors. Our most-liked dishes were te chicken and the fish, while others were also well cooked .

  The time limit for parking on the street in front of the buildings is 30 mins. The time limit for parking in the underground garage is 3 hours. If you park where the fence is on the street, you will be fined over $200. Mon Sheong is a senior's retirement home. Beside the lobby is what I think is the common area. There's a board in the common area that has lots of activities and events for the seniors to do listed for each day. My grandma lives here. She likes where she lives now because she is close to where her friends and family lives. Her unit is small, but spacious enough. There's a small kitchen, no big oven, small electric stove top on the counter. The bathroom connects to the bedroom and the front door area. There are sliding glass doors between the main room and her bedroom. The underground parking garage is just 1 floor for visitors and residents. To get into the building from the garage, you need to buzz in to who you're going to visit and they have to press a button for the door to open. Or you get lucky and someone comes out from the building. Same thing with the front entrance. You need a key to get past the second set of doors. Or you can stand there and wait for the person behind the desk to open the door for you. Or if someone is leaving the building, you can get in and the same time.

  My mom is 73 yrs old and not able to walk properly. She's been living in this place for around 2 yrs. In my opinion, this place is a blessing from god. For many reasons: 1) everyone who works here are super nice 2) this place is like a hotel with lots of facilities and group events for seniors 3) handrails in the washroom and hallway - perfect for seniors 4) in the middle of the asian communities, surrounded by lots of restaurants Only down side is the restaurant at the lobby is not the greatest
