  I am giving ParaMed Cambridge a 1-star review due to my family’s experience with one PSW, Rebekah. My mother suffered a stroke and has been receiving care from ParaMed for approximately six months. During that time, she has had consistently positive experiences with every other PSW. Unfortunately, our experience with Rebekah has been very different. Rebekah’s bedside manner has been unprofessional and lacking in compassion. She frequently complains about aspects of her job while providing care, which is inappropriate and unsettling for patients. My mother has found her to be impatient, dismissive, and at times aggressive when she does not immediately understand instructions. One of the challenges is that Rebekah has a very strong accent, making her difficult for my mother to understand. Rather than recognizing this communication barrier and taking the time to ensure my mother understands, she often becomes visibly frustrated. Effective communication is an essential part of patient care, particularly for stroke patients who may already struggle with comprehension. I have also raised concerns with the company regarding Rebekah’s body odour, but despite bringing these issues forward, her overall professionalism and conduct have not improved. My mother deserves to be treated with dignity, patience, and respect during this stage of her life. It is disappointing that one employee has negatively impacted what has otherwise been a positive experience with ParaMed. I sincerely hope management addresses these concerns so that all patients receive the compassionate, respectful care they deserve. Rebekah, if providing compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care is not something you are willing or able to do, then this is simply not the right career path for you. The vulnerable patients in your care deserve better than to be treated with frustration, impatience, aggression and a lack of empathy. Based on the level of professionalism and care I witnessed, I was left questioning the quality of the training she received.

  Firstly, the nurses are wonderful. However, the coordinator at the Cambridge location couldn't coordinate himself out of a wet paper bag.

  I had a very positive experience with ParaMed Home Health Care in Cambridge. The care provided was professional, reliable, and compassionate. I especially want to thank Collins and Jharana for their dedication and kindness. They were attentive, respectful, and made a real difference during a difficult time. Their support gave us peace of mind, and we truly appreciate the quality of care they provided. I would highly recommend ParaMed to anyone in need of home health services.
