  DO NOT send your loved ones here. Some of the PSWs and nurses mistreat the residents. My Dad had his face shaved by a PSW who cut up his face and left him with cuts and razor rash and left shave cream in his nose, he did not respect my Dads wishes during the bath either. I do my Dads laundry because we have lost valuable NEW clothing and never got it back and not offered to pay for the missing clothing. There is a major abuse of power. Please do not send your loved ones here 🙏🏻

  Please read before choosing this long-term care home. My family has endured an extremely difficult and heartbreaking experience since my father moved into this facility. The level of frustration, disappointment, and stress we have experienced while advocating for his basic care and dignity has been overwhelming. One of our first major issues was with the laundry service. Multiple brand-new articles of clothing disappeared after being sent to laundry. While we cannot know exactly what happened, these items were never recovered, and the situation was never satisfactorily resolved or investigated. After repeated concerns, we made the difficult decision to do my father’s laundry ourselves at our own expense because we no longer trusted the facility’s laundry service. The food situation has been one of our greatest concerns. My father is frequently not asked what he would like to eat, and there have been times when he has not received a proper meal unless he specifically requests something. He has been left with extremely limited options, including cheese sandwiches, which is not an appropriate long-term solution. He has lost weight while living here, and when concerns were raised with dietary staff, we did not feel the seriousness of the situation was adequately addressed. Families should not have to worry about whether their loved one is receiving basic nutrition in a care setting. We have also had ongoing concerns regarding personal care. We pay for services that we expect to be completed properly, yet we have observed issues with basic grooming and care. My father’s nails and feet have often been poorly maintained despite paying for nail and foot care services. On one occasion, while a PSW was shaving my father, my father had to tell the staff member to stop because he was hurting him, but my father was ignored, and the shaving continued. He was left with painful razor burns and shaving cream stuck inside his nose that was not cleaned afterward. Seeing my dad treated this way was extremely upsetting and gut-wrenching. He felt disrespected and humiliated. Communication with administration has also been frustrating. Recently, we raised questions regarding how an accommodation rate increase was communicated. The information was included within a broader newsletter/email communication rather than being provided as a dedicated notice. Although the information was available and reviewed by our family, the wording did not make clear that residents with approved income-based rate reductions could still experience a significant increase in their actual room rate charges. When we raised this concern, we were advised that this was the home’s standard process. Our concern was not the increase itself, but whether the communication was clear enough for residents and families to understand the impact. Since raising this concern, administration has acknowledged that the communication should have been provided sooner in our case and has committed to improving this process in the future. I appreciate that acknowledgment, and I hope those improvements are carried through. The most difficult part has been the repeated pattern of raising concerns, having discussions, receiving assurances, and then seeing little meaningful improvement afterward. The same issues continue to arise, leaving our family feeling exhausted and increasingly worried. A long-term care home should provide dignity, compassion, safety, nutrition, and respect. Families should not have to repeatedly fight to ensure their loved one’s basic needs are being met. We are now exploring transferring my father to another home because our concerns about his care and overall experience have continued to grow. This has been an incredibly stressful and painful experience for our family. No family should have to worry whether their loved one is being fed, properly cared for, or treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
