Staff were nice and always tried to be helpful. Some chronic miscommunication, when it came to transfers and hospital visits. But that is pretty much the norm in the industry from what I saw.

There are many issues with St. Hilda's, including a staff more invested in managing patients meds and routine than improving quality of life. Activities are designed towards 5 year olds. The average age of residents is 89. There is no encouragement of autonomy or independence, in fact it is discouraged ... Facing bankruptcy, 40million dollars of current funding is being provided through the City and other Government bodies to bring it back to its former glory. Throwing money at this to repair the building while neglecting the real issues of mismanagement lacking in compassionate care is money wasted. Seniors are not children and deserve dignity with compassionate individual care to meet each Resident in what their capable of instead of grooming helplessness.
