Despite this place being one of the preferred homes for my Doc...Nursing staff were only adequate. It is a good place--get to know the PSWs first and foremost--the nurses don't spend that much time with your loved one. Now where near as much as the PSWs. Also, stand your ground with the Head nurses. I had the head Nurse play gaslighting head games with me--intentionally trying to anger me to have something to hold over me. She had also issued warnings to me over my loved ones dementia(trying to avoid future responsibility and shift it to my shoulders). She retired during the lockdowns, Her replacement wasn't much better, not returning an important call until it was too late for me to call back and that was only to cover her own butt. The nursing staff is good; they act more like managers though, hence getting to know the PSWs. Spend most of the time sitting in the nurses office only leaving for overseeing the meals, doling out the medications and emergencies. Also the nursing staff tend to hide some issues--I've had to go over the Elliots head to deal with a problem they tried to hide. One senior Nurse was upset I let the LIHN know what was wrong.
