What a beautiful historic home. So warm and cozy!

After a flooding at another retirement home last year, my brother was suddenly in immediate need of a new residence. There are several in our city of London to choose from so it was a task to find one that met all of his needs. Tour after tour of places that just didnt click all of the boxes. And then we visited Waverly. We were greeted by super friendly staff that answered all of our questions and even the on site maintenance man who assured us that if there was anything we needed (extra support bars installed etc) that he would look after it. We liked that it had new flooring, new bathroom and was fresh and clean. I also appreciated how busy it seemed with lots going on for residents in the large social areas. Residents were coming and going and many still drive etc so it felt perfect! My brother has now lived there for over a year and our family is so happy that he loves living at Waverly. He spends several days a week out doing his own thing but once home, he's back with his friends outside on the new patio surrounded by the gardens that residents have created and tended to. 5 stars represent my overall appreciation for a well organized retirement home where residents are respected and taken care of very well. I would recommend a tour of this beautiful historic home to anyone who is looking for a safe and reputable retirement residence. Thank you to the dedicated staff and admin team for becoming a part of our Family! ♡

Feb 27-Mar 11 I have written this review several times because I am so angry at the treatment my sister received from the Administration while at Waverly. My sister had a 13 day stay for respite care while her home was being readied for sale. She had spoken to the Administration on a few occasions prior to her stay and had a 2 hour assessment at Waverly the Monday before she arrived on Thursday. My sister has Primary Progressive MS. She has lost the use of her left arm, it has affected her speech and walking is very difficult. Walking on carpet makes it more difficult and dangerous. She would need help toileting, getting dressed/undressed, getting in/out of bed and having a shower. She also required a room with no carpeting, a recliner chair to help combat the edema in her lower legs and feet. The Administration guaranteed her medical needs could be met, no problem. I want to be clear, the assistance she received from the Nurse and the PSW’s was very good. The first room they put her in had carpeting, a recliner chair and TV. The recliner chair and TV broke the next day. The Administrator promised a new room and recliner. The new room came on Monday, my sister arrived Thursday. On Monday, we moved her into the room. The room had no carpet and a bucket chair! Still no recliner after 5 days. On the 6th day, we moved her recliner from home. The Administrator came to her room on the 6th day after we had already moved her own recliner to let her know a recliner had been ordered. My sister very politely commented on the lack of follow through from Waverly on meeting her medical needs. The Administrator responded with “ this is not a hotel”. Rude, unprofessional and uncalled for. My sister never received an apology. Waverly is dirty, hot and in desperate need of updating. My sister was on the 3rd floor. I took the stairs up daily and I can guarantee the stairwells were not vacuumed in 13 days. The same dirt and debris was there everyday. A mattress being stored in the stairwell did not move for 13 days. Metal bars from a bed were laid over a decorative chair in the hallway on the 3rd floor for 13 days. Broken down cardboard boxes, trolleys, blue boxes, garbage carts were all stored in the 1st floor stairwell for 13 days. For the amount of money the residents are charged, they deserve better than this. The only redeeming quality about Waverley are PSW’s.
