My 80-year-old mom had a stroke and we were completely lost about what to do after she came home from the hospital. We booked WOXY for post-stroke home care and the registered nurse they sent, Mei, was incredible. She spoke fluent Cantonese with my mom, which immediately put her at ease since my mom's English is very limited. During the first home visit, Mei spent almost half an hour just talking to mom, understanding her daily routine, what foods she likes, what makes her anxious. Then she did a thorough health assessment and showed us exactly how to help with mom's mobility exercises. Three weeks later, mom can now eat with her left hand and her face lights up every time Mei walks through the door. For a Chinese family like ours, finding a home care provider who understands both the medical side AND the cultural side is so rare. WOXY genuinely delivered.

Taking care of my mom who has dementia while working full time in Markham has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I was not sleeping, constantly anxious, and honestly starting to feel like I was failing as a daughter. My sister found WOXY online and we booked their dementia home care service. The nurse they sent, Priya, has been a literal lifeline. The first time she visited, my mom was agitated and refusing to let anyone near her. Priya did not push. She sat at the kitchen table and started folding laundry with my mom, something my mom used to love doing. Within ten minutes they were chatting and my mom let Priya check her blood pressure without any resistance. I had not seen my mom that calm in weeks. Priya comes three times a week now and she knows exactly how to read my mom's mood, when to engage and when to give her space. She also noticed my mom was not drinking enough water and quietly started leaving small cups around the house in places mom walks past. Genius. For the first time in six months, I took a full afternoon off and did not feel guilty. WOXY gave me my life back, and more importantly, they treat my mom with genuine dignity.
