  I was invited to interview for a position with this company. My first interview was scheduled on a Friday, where I met with two staff members. After our discussion, I was informed that the owner was unavailable and was asked to return on Monday. I completely understood that schedules can change, so I returned as requested. However, when I arrived on Monday, the owner was again unavailable in person and conducted the interview over a video call instead. I felt the interview went very well, and I was confident because my qualifications and professional experience matched the role. One thing that genuinely surprised me was that I was repeatedly asked whether I could speak Punjabi. I explained that I speak English fluently, understand Punjabi very well, and can also communicate in Hindi and Urdu. In a Canadian workplace, I expected my qualifications, experience, and ability to perform the job to be the primary factors in the hiring decision. I left the interview feeling that my inability to speak Punjabi fluently may have outweighed my professional qualifications, which was disappointing. The HR manager was polite, welcoming, and professional. She told me everything looked good from her side and that she only needed to discuss my interview with the owner before getting back to me. I had always believed that HR professionals are trusted to evaluate candidates and make hiring recommendations, so I was a little surprised that the entire process seemed to depend on the owner’s final approval. That is, of course, the company’s decision, and I respect that. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication afterwards. I was told I would receive an update regardless of the outcome. After waiting several days, I even sent a follow-up email a few days later. If my application was still under review or they hadn’t made a decision yet, they could have at least replied with a single line, but I received no response at all. It has now been weeks, and I still have not heard back. Being selected or rejected is part of every hiring process, and I have absolutely no issue with not being chosen. However, I do believe every candidate deserves a professional response, even if it is simply a brief email explaining that another candidate was selected and the reason. Before attending the interview, I had heard mixed opinions about the company’s hiring process, but I chose not to judge based on hearsay and wanted to form my own opinion. Unfortunately, my personal experience left me feeling that the process lacked transparency and professionalism. I sincerely wish the company success. One comment that really stayed with me was when she said that she didn’t want any negative reviews about the company. I found it surprising because the main concern raised during my interview seemed to be that I couldn’t speak Punjabi fluently, despite my qualifications, experience, and ability to communicate effectively in English. It left me feeling that my professional skills were not given the same importance as this single factor. Looking back, I honestly felt that my time could have been respected more if those expectations had been made clear from the beginning. I am simply sharing my personal experience so that other candidates know what mine was and can make their own informed decision.

  Best Home Care Service in Alberta. The quality of care and professionalism they provide is excellent, and the entire office staff is genuinely kind, supportive, and hardworking. Everyone is very approachable and always willing to help whenever needed. Veerpal, in particular, is extremely accommodating, understanding, and supportive. She creates a positive environment for both staff and clients, and it’s clear that she truly cares about the people she works with.
