About

Clinic Psychology Manitoba is a psychology clinic in Winnipeg specializing in evidence-based cognitive behaviour therapy and mindfulness for adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. The team includes registered clinical psychologists and clinical associates.

Senior Care Path Summary

Clinic Psychology Manitoba explicitly notes that they work with older adults as part of their range of clients. Their approach uses cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment with over 40 years of research support. CBT addresses thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, making it suitable for common concerns affecting seniors such as anxiety, depression, grief, and life stress.

The clinic is conveniently located at 1020 Lorimer Boulevard in Winnipeg with free on-site parking and appears to be wheelchair accessible (Unit 502). Individual sessions are approximately 50 minutes, and the team includes registered clinical psychologists supervised by a clinical director, as well as clinical associates with Master's degrees.

They offer treatment for conditions common in older adults, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, depression, grief counselling, and life stress and coping. Therapy sessions address emotional and behavioural challenges, and they note that skills learned from CBT are maintained over the long term.

Services are not covered by Manitoba Health but are often covered by extended health benefit plans through employers or private insurance. The clinic accepts self-referrals and professional referrals, with accessible intake by phone Monday to Thursday, 9am to 3pm.

Be careful of this place, the admin will screw you out of hundreds of dollars in benefits ($800 in my case). Find another location that is there to actually help you.

Our experience with this provider definitely did not breed confidence. In seeking out therapy services for our son, we found this business very difficult to deal with. Unorganized, difficult to find the physical location, and poor information provided prior to our consult which ultimately led to much wasted time, and wasted money. We really enjoyed speaking with one of their therapists Mr Robert George though. After passing on very polite, factual, and professional feedback to the owner of the clinic, I received a response only after follow-up and pressing for an answer to a question I had. Zero recognition of the feedback I submitted. Only a short/smug response which simply made us more confident in our choice to look elsewhere. Quite disappointing overall.
