Errands & Household Help

Errand Services for Seniors

Errand services take the weekly to-do list off a parent's plate: a Costco run, groceries, returns, pharmacy pickups, the bank and the post office. Many will bring your parent along for the outing, so it stays social, not just a delivery.

Most errand helpers are booked by the hour, often through a companion or home-support agency, with a minimum visit of two to three hours.

Expect roughly $25 to $40 an hour in 2026, the same range as companion care, plus mileage on some bookings.

Ask whether they take your parent along ("come with me to the bank") or shop for them, and how receipts and cash or cards are handled.

If your parent needs company or help around the home too, companion care often bundles errands into the same visit.
