How we ranked London's in-home nursing agencies
To make this list, a London agency has to offer nursing or other skilled clinical care and have five or more Google reviews. We sort by a rating weighted for the number of reviews, which rewards a long track record over a few glowing ones. Our SCP Confidence Score, printed on every listing, settles close calls. No agency pays for its place, and the London order is refreshed each quarter.

How this ranking works: agenciesare ordered by our independent SCP Confidence Score, shown on each listing, then by a volume-weighted Google rating (so a large number of strong reviews outweighs a handful of perfect ones). Every agency here offers in-home nursing care in London and has at least 5 reviews. An agency with more than one office here is listed once, at its best-ranked office. As operators claim and verify their listings, their Confidence Score rises, so we review these rankings quarterly.

Should your parent see a nurse at home or at a London nursing clinic?
If your parent can get out of the house, ask about Ontario Health atHome's free community nursing clinics. London has five: VON on Florence Street and on Cherryhill Circle, ParaMed on Springbank Drive, and SE Health on Thompson Road and Fanshawe Park Road West.
They're by appointment, covered by OHIP, and open to Ontario Health atHome patients for wound care, IV therapy, catheter, diabetes and ostomy care. Ask about evening or weekend appointments, which some clinics offer and which can suit a son or daughter who works days.
When your parent is housebound, the nurse comes home instead, usually in the first weeks after discharge. Ask any agency whether its nurses are on staff, since some only employ personal support workers. Our in-home nursing guide covers the rest.
Is in-home nursing funded in London?
Yes, for assessed needs. Call 310-2222 (no area code needed) and Ontario Health atHome's South West team will assess your parent and arrange nursing visits at no cost. Discharge planners at LHSC and St. Joseph's usually start the referral. If they haven't, you don't have to wait: your parent, a family member, or the family doctor can call.
Where the public plan is strong: wound and incision care, IV therapy, injections, catheter and ostomy care, and teaching your parent a new medication, at home or at one of the clinics above.
Where London families usually add private help: a nurse at a time that fits your work day, visits beyond the plan, or a longer block such as the first night home from University Hospital. Private agencies charge roughly $60 to $90 or more an hour in 2026 (see the home care cost guide). Keep the receipts: the refundable Ontario Seniors Care at Home Tax Credit returns some of what you spend.
Which London hospitals does home nursing connect with?
Most home nursing in London follows a stay at London Health Sciences Centre's Victoria Hospital or University Hospital, or at St. Joseph's Hospital. For older adults, Parkwood Institute matters just as much: its rehab and specialized geriatric programs send many patients home with a nursing plan. Our London hospitals page lists every site.
If your parent is frail and over 60, ask the family doctor about Parkwood's Geriatric Rehabilitation Day Hospital. It's an outpatient program with nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social work. It needs a medical referral, and there's no fee for the program itself.
Ask whether an agency's nurses regularly pick up discharge plans from Parkwood or LHSC, and whether they cover your parent's area. London nurses may also be asked to drive out to Komoka, Arva, Dorchester, or Lambeth, so check for travel charges if your parent lives at the edge of the city.
What does premium private nursing in London buy?
At the top of the range, you should get an RN who writes and updates the care plan, two or three regular nurses rather than whoever is free, a coordinator who picks up after hours, and visit notes the family doctor can read. Before you sign, ask which RN oversees the London nurses, who comes if the regular nurse is off sick on a Sunday, and whether a visit to Lambeth or Komoka adds a travel fee.
The bottom line
The best in-home nursing agency in London has its own RNs and RPNs, nurses who cover your parent's part of the city, and experience picking up discharge plans from LHSC, St. Joseph's, and Parkwood. Start with the nursing Ontario Health atHome assesses, at home or at a clinic like VON on Florence Street, and use the ranking above for whatever the plan leaves out.

Frequently asked questions
What does in-home nursing cover?
In-home nursing is skilled clinical care by a registered nurse or registered practical nurse: medication management and injections, wound, ostomy, and catheter care, IV therapy and post-surgical monitoring, chronic disease management, and palliative nursing. It differs from personal care (bathing, dressing, daily help), and many plans use both, a nurse for the medical hours and a support worker for the rest.
Is in-home nursing funded in London, Ontario?
Yes, for assessed needs. Ontario Health atHome's South West office arranges and pays for nursing visits after an assessment, at no cost to your parent; the hospital usually refers, or you can call 310-2222 (no area code). Public nursing covers wound care, injections, IV therapy, and catheter care, and private agencies fill the gaps at roughly $60 to $90 or more an hour in 2026.
How did you rank London's in-home nursing agencies?
We include only London agencies that provide nursing or skilled medical care and have at least five reviews, then rank them by our SCP Confidence Score, with ties going to a volume-weighted Google rating (so consistent, well-reviewed agencies outrank a handful of perfect scores). We don't sell placement, and we review the ranking quarterly as operators claim and verify their listings.
When does a senior need in-home nursing?
The common triggers are a recent hospital stay, a chronic condition needing skilled oversight, or complex medications. It's especially valuable after a hospital discharge, when a wound, new medication, or device needs professional attention during recovery. Confirm an agency actually employs nurses, since not every home care service does, and ask how they supervise clinical care.
Which London hospitals discharge patients to home nursing?
Most home nursing in London follows a stay at LHSC's Victoria Hospital or University Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, or rehab and geriatric care at Parkwood Institute. The discharge team usually arranges the Ontario Health atHome referral, and a private agency can add visits beyond the public plan. Ask whether the agency's nurses cover your parent's area, including towns like Komoka or Dorchester.
