It’s with a heavy heart and sadness that I have to say goodbye to my home at Martha’s Landing. The residents and staff became like a family to me especially since before moving in I lost my husband with whom I was married 64 years. I wish my husband was able to experience the joy with me living at Martha’s Landing. Leaving to move to another province makes me feel like I’m leaving my family behind. When I walked into Chartwell for the first time I felt a friendly atmosphere, like you could almost sense the happiness and joy of everyone around, everyone soon knew my name, making me feel like I belonged and the building was always immaculate. Out of all the wonderful staff that work at the home. There was always someone who stood out to me whom I think the world of. He is always smiling, energetic, warm and makes all the residents feel individually special. I would highly recommend Chartwell Martha’s Landing.

I was recently brought in to host an event for Martha’s Landing Chartwell during their open house. The theme was Strawberry Social and I was asked to host a chocolate covered strawberry decorating workshop that tied perfectly with the theme! Upon arriving, I noticed how beautifully decorated the home was, how welcoming the staff were, and how warm the environment felt. The residents seemed thrilled to take part in a fun activity organized by the hard working staff at Martha’s Landing. It is clear that they take pride in their work and that the residents feel right at home. It was an absolute pleasure to host an event at the home and I truly enjoyed my experience.

My dad had recently made a decision to move into a retirement home and his choice was Martha's Landing. From the onset we were made to feel welcome by the staff and residents. We really liked the size of the facility, small enough to get to know everyone but big enough to provide a great experience. The meals have been great and the weekly housekeeping is a big help. My dad is now starting to really settle in and has enjoyed some of the excellent services and activities offered. Most importantly we know that he is in the good hands of the caring staff. Thank you to everyone who has supported my dad through this transition. You are a great team!
