My dear Aunt lives in Laurier Manor. Wanting to send her flowers for Easter and unsure as to whether there were restrictions, I called the home on Saturday March 28 in the morning. There was no one available to take my call. After navigating the telephones tree, I left a message with the nurse on her floor to please call me back. Today on Monday April 6 a nurse returned my call. My message had been streamed into a “saved” area and she was just getting around to returning those calls. I was glad this was not a really urgent call. I’ll let you decide if you think this is acceptable. Laurier Manor is a privately owned home managed by Extendicare, a “for profit” nursing home enterprise. They do not staff a reception area on weekends. And if you go to the Extendicare website, the largest amount of information is under the heading INVESTORS. Hmmm?

My mother in law just came back from a 3 week respite care at Laurier Manor. The staff was excellent. She was given lots of attention and care. The complaint I have was the facility is extremely hot. It is an older building, but they should turn the heat less than 30 degrees! My mother in law was satisfied with the food and her shared room. She had a lovely roomate. The staff do their best to make the residents happy! One less star due to the tropical heat in building.

Nursing staff very good. Excellent day care. Best in ottawa.building is old but very good staff .there is one indian girl in nursing very experienced and soft spoken.
